Resources for Unions & Nonprofits

Getting Started

Labor unions are increasingly using social media--Twitter, Facebook, blogging, Flickr, and other interactive web tools--as a communications tool. Social media can be an integral part of communicating with members, the community, the media. Social media tools have been used as part of organizing drives, contract campaigns, and, most recently, as a way to help union members affected by Hurricane Sandy.  This Library Guide can be used as a starting point, where you can learn about Social Media tools, best practices for labor unions and workers' groups, and examples of effective Social Media sites.

The Power of Social Media

Social Media can be a powerful tool for unions to reach out to members and organize. Here is a video that outlines just how powerful a tool social media can be.
