Alert services provide you with up-to-date information on articles, journals, and saved searches that match your research interests. Alerts are available via E-mail or RSS feeds and can be set up in many RUL databases, as well as via individual journal publishers.
An RSS feed (Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication) allows you to keep up on news, articles, journals, etc., without manually visiting each site. The feed is delivered automatically via RSS aggregator/feed reader programs. Many browsers such as Firefox, Internet Explorer have built-in readers.
