Brown is the author or co-author of over 50 books on global environmental issues and his works have been translated into more than 40 languages. One of the themes in Brown's work is food production and hunger, as reflected in the titles of these online books:
His legacy lives on at the Lester R. Brown Reading Room in Martin Hall at George H. Cook Campus | Rutgers University (his alma mater). The room houses a collection of his books along with their translations, honorary degrees, and awards. There is also an electronic collection of presentations, radio and television interviews, and documentaries in which he is featured. Rutgers hosts the Earth Policy Institute's website, so the information remains available.
Some book titles from the collection can also be found in the Rutgers Library Catalog.
