To find video, search the Library Catalog and refine your search by choosing your preferred format (VHS, DVD, Streaming Video) from the filters to the left of your search results.
Use Advanced Search to construct more complex searches with multiple keywords. Select AUDIO VISUAL and VIDEO under "Resource type."
The Media Collections Guide is for browsing subject areas that are not well addressed by subject headings. But there are many types of subject searches, such as 'United States history', 'oceanography', 'music' and other areas that are done better in the Library Catalog.
Full text searching of the abstracts, contents, and summaries found in the Catalog is a also a very useful strategy for complex topics. For a topic like 'race issues in films about labor' go to Advanced Search where you can limit to your preferred "Resource type" and enter 'race' and 'labor' as your keywords.
