Your final paper for the semester is a 4-5 page research paper. This research paper will enable you to gain a broader and more vivid understanding of how to use primary and secondary sources to understand a text. It also gives you practice in integrating your voice with the voices of experts. Please bear in mind that this paper is not an informative paper; it is an argumentative paper which requires you to make a claim about the main text, and use outside sources to prove your claim.
(You’ll be required to show evidence of your progress in every class leading up to the due date).
Here is your research question:
Using the readings: “Gender Roles Behavior and Attitudes” by Aaron Devor and two to three more sources of your choice, examine society's treatment of men who assume traditionally-feminine/female jobs/professions and women who assume traditionally-male jobs/professions.
Remember that your paper should encompass information 3-4 additional sources. These include mostly peer-reviewed journal articles. You may also use Google Scholar. Please do not Google the concepts in order to choose articles as such articles are usually ubiquitous and unscholarly. Please also DO NOT use magazine and newspaper articles or Wikipedia sources. In fact, I will need to get from everyone, a short paragraph explaining exactly HOW each of your chosen sources will assist your research.
Regardless of the length of each work, please make an effort to apply equal treatment to all.
