This guide was created by Jenica Ibarra (she/they), Reference & Instruction Librarian, who came to Rutgers with over a decade of experience as an academic librarian, most recently serving as the Natural Sciences liaison at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. Jenica has a M.A. degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida, along with master’s and bachelor’s degrees in History also from USF. She is a first-generation college student and is passionate about supporting fellow first-gen students. She lives in Asheville, NC with her partner, dog, and cat. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping, reading, quiet nights at home, and spending time with loved ones.
