QuickSearch

Tips for Using Quicksearch

  • Use AND to combine your concepts, e.g., women AND health
  • Use OR to combine synonyms, related terms, e.g., domestic violence OR partner abuse
  • Use the * (asterik)  to search for the root word and any ending, e.g., transport* will retrieve transport, transports, transportation, transported
  • Look at the subject headings on the full record for an item-these can help you generate new keywords, concepts, etc.
  • Try using the Advanced Search to combine keywords and subject headings, author and title, etc.

Getting Books

  • To find e-versions of books in Quicksearch, on the results page use the limits in the left navigation bar; select under Limit to,  "available online" and under the Resource type heading, select "Books or Book Chapters"

  • During the Co-Vid pandemic, for print books we hold,  see Click and Collect
  • If you need print books either not owned, checked out, or otherwise not available in the Rutgers University Libraries, the fastest way to get them is through E-Z Borrow.  Books requested from E-Z Borrow usually arrive in about one week.  For additional options and more information , please see Placing Requests via Quicksearch and  Borrow/Request/Renew.
