Using RefWorks

RefWorks is a Web based bibliography and citation manager to which Rutgers subscribes on behalf of the Rutgers community. You can import citations from QuickSearch and other online databases.

  • RefWorks helps you organize your research materials by allowing you to use different folders and build bibliographies using the style manual of your choice (e.g., APA, Chicago, MLA, etc.).
  • If you are a first time user of RefWorks, you will need to create an account. You may also want to visit the RefWorks guide.

A word of caution! It is very important that you understand how to format your materials in whatever style you are using. The RefWorks program can make mistakes. You need to be able to detect the errors and correct them before you turn in your final paper. You are responsible for your own citations!
