Ask-A-Librarian

There are several ways to seek help from a librarian:

Rutgers Libraries Toolbar

The Rutgers University Libraries Toolbar is a free Firefox extension (or add-on) that:

  • provides a drop-down menu to library resources
  • embeds library links on popular Websites such as Amazon.com
  • offers special functionality when you highlight terms on a Website and right-click over them with your mouse
  • allows linking from ISBNs, ISSNs, PubMed IDs, and DOIs to Rutgers-restricted online resources
  • is easy to install and easy to use

Introduction

This guide was put together with the goal of helping students in Instructor Emily Caris' Spring 2020 English Composition courses get started with finding a few sources for their research paper assignment.  It is intended to complement and supplement the library research instruction session taught.

By no means is this an exhaustive guide to doing research, so if you have any questions, please Ask-A-Librarian!  And if you would like to get in touch with Bonnie Fong, her contact information is along the right column.
