Wireless access is available both to those who have a current Rutgers NetID and password and to guests.
1. People with valid NetIDs who have used RUWireless_Secure in the past
No change in access to the secure wireless network or access RUL online holdings.
2. People with valid NetIDs who have NEVER used RUWireless_Secure
Will be able to initially join the “RUWireless (Guest)” network and go through a one-time, automatic process of installing pushed software. They can then sign on to the “RUWireless_Secure” network with their valid NetID.
3. People without valid NetIDs but having an RUL barcode/PIN
Will be able to join the new “RUWireless (Guest)” network without authentication, simply by reviewing and agreeing to an acceptable-use policy. Since the guest network has a non-Rutgers address space, they will be considered off-campus by RUL servers and challenged through our proxy. They can still use RUL online holdings by entering their barcode and PIN as usual.
4. People with no valid NetID and no RUL barcode/PIN
All other wireless users without a valid NetID and without an RUL-issued barcode will still be able to join the new “RUWireless (Guest)” without authentication, simply by reviewing and agreeing to an acceptable-use policy. They will have no access to any Rutgers NetID-based services (including databases and other restricted electronic resources), but they can browse Rutgers public websites and can roam the Internet.
Problems can be reported by phone (732-445-HELP [4357]), email (help@ruwireless.rutgers.edu), or via the web form:
Users who log in with NetID should be able to print to the OIT lab after going through the appropriate installation procedure for their system. See:

Printing to the Libraries print release stations is also possible with the installation of the proper driver. See:
