In most situations, emergencies should be referred to the Administrative Office within the library during regular business hours. After hours (evenings and weekends) report problems to Access Services. Follow procedures set forth in the Emergency Manual, which is available at all library locations.
In the event of a building evacuation (e.g., fire alarm or bomb threat) all library employees should immediately gather at a location a safe distance from the building. Designated gathering spots for each of the Libraries are listed below.
•Alexander Library - parking lot #32 on Richardson Street (across the street from the library)
•Art Library - World War II Memorial Plaza titled "A World Turned Inside Out" located between Scott and Van Dyke Halls
•Chang Library - side entrance/exit door to Foran Hall
•Chemistry Library - courtyard between the Wright Reiman Lab and the SERC Building
•Dana Library - across the courtyard in the Robeson Campus Center
•Douglass Library - Antilles Field
•Carr Library - round plaza in back of Student Center.
•Library of Science and Medicine - far end of the courtyard across from the main entrance to the building.
•Mathematics/Physics Library - grassy area between SERC and the Engineering Building
•Robeson Library - grassy open area in front of the library
•SERC - go out the front door and gather in front of the main building
•Technical Service Building - grassy area in front of ASB, 65 Davidson Road
In case of an emergency, employees should dial 9-1-1. If calling from a university phone, dial 8-9-1-1.

The RUPD provides escorts to students, faculty and staff upon request. The escorts provide the community with personalized service to their vehicles, campus residence or the University's mass transit system. In order to request an “escort” we ask that an individual contact the police communications center 732-932-7211 or by using any campus blue light telephone and identify their current location. In addition the Knight Mover shuttle operates Sunday – Wednesday between the hours of 3:00 am – 6:45 AM in order to provide a safe transportation option outside of the operating hours of the intercampus bus system. The Knight Mover can be requested at: 732-932-RIDE (7433).
