Rutgers Libraries Catalog - Find Books

You may search the Rutgers University Libraries Catalog for books, videos, media, microforms, and other materials located on all Rutgers campuses.

  • If you are looking for a specific book, it is best to search by: TITLE / AUTHOR / ISBN
  • If you would like to find books about a topic you are interested in, it is best to search by: SUBJECT / KEYWORD
For further details on using the Rutgers Libraries Catalog, please refer to the video on the left or Ask-a-Librarian.

What if Rutgers doesn't own the book you want?

If none of Rutgers' libraries own the book you want, see if it is available through E-ZBorrow.  If you are unsuccessful in finding the book there, request an Interlibrary Loan.

Reference Materials

Reference books such as encyclopedias are a great place to do some preliminary research.  You can get a good overview about your topic, perhaps narrow down your topic if it was too broad before, and most importantly, identify seach terms to use when you begin your search for books and/or articles.

While the Rutgers University Libraries have many print reference books available, if you are currently off-campus, you may find it more convenient to use our online ones:
