Civic

The City of Newark Archives and Records Management Center has the Minutes and Documents of the Committee on Public Buildings from 1875 to 1917. The Committee approved bids for the construction, decoration, and maintenance of public buildings (offices, fire houses, courts, etc.) in Newark.

History and photographic tour. The Essex County Jail is oldest public building in the county. Designed by John Haviland, it was built in 1837.

Krueger Mansion: Feasibility Study.

Extensive study prepared for Newark by the Grad Partnership architectural firm in 1987 for the renovation of the Krueger-Scott mansion. The Newark Public Library has a copy in the the New Jersey Reference Collection (N.J. Ref. 363.690974932 K93).
